Markybox is an art subscription box and perfect for those who don’t know where to start with teaching art at home for ages four and up. Each month brings a different art project with all the needed materials as well as step by step instructions for those that need it. They pride their boxes on being developed by artists and educators and coming with quality professional materials. In addition they offer a gallery on the website where children may view others creations and upload pictures of their own artwork.
One of the things that I like about this over other art boxes is that they send enough materials to make two of each project. This makes it easier to use with multiple children and helps keep the cost down. If you are ordering for a single child they have the option to do the project twice or it can be done as a family project as well. Younger children will need more supervision and assistance than older children with various projects.
Past projects have included hand casting, paper marbling, tin prints, string art, water color tunnel books, and dyeing and weaving. This is really a perfect addition as a monthly art curriculum as it covers different art mediums and techniques each month without the parent having to do anything but take part in the art activity with their child. Subscriptions range in price from $24 - $30 a month depending on subscription length.
